Boards Membership & Participation – Best practices, best value, and practical outcomes to aspire to each year

Every non-profit board has a critical role to play when it pertains to driving revenue for its mission—way beyond just reading the minutes and reviewing reports.  In this conversation, participants will hear about best practice as it relates to ROI, reasons why donors give, primary/secondary board responsibilities, and how to choose new board members.

Our presenter, Randall Hallett, is the CEO and Founder of Hallett Philanthropy.  He has spent his entire career in and around non-profits.  Randall finds a great vocational passion in helping organizations seek funding to meet their mission.  He believes, by both personal and professional experience, that “giving” is good for one’s emotional and physical health. 

Randall has worked with health systems, hospitals, medical centers, and social service agencies in 28 states and 4 foreign countries.  His clients include/have included Intermountain Health System, Catholic Health Initiatives System, Dignity Health System, AdventHealth System, Indiana University Health System, Banner Health System, University of California Irvine, Baylor University Medical Center, University of Missouri, University of Miami, University of Miami, Marshfield Clinic Health, Manitoba Children’s Hospital (Canada), Genesis Health, Nationwide Children sand St. Vincent’s Current (Australia).  He has also worked with many Ronald McDonald Houses in the country as well as serving as the chief architect of the national certification executive fundraising program for the National School Foundation Association.

Prior to consulting, Randall spent 15 years in various non-profits, all in the chief development officer role including as the CDO at Nebraska Medical Center (now Nebraska Medicine), St. Thomas Academy, Rockhurst, and UMKC School of Law Foundation.

Randall has a bachelor’s degree in business/finance, an MBA, a law degree where his personal emphasis was in taxation issues of estates/trusts, and an educational doctorate in leadership.  As an Omaha native (and 5th generation Nebraskan), he lives in his home town with his beautiful wife and two children.
